Pre-service Inspection Initiated for Tianwan Unit 5

Engineers working at Tianwan Unit 5 have recently begun working on the pre-service inspection as the construction phase reaches completion. The inspection contains 46 categories involving almost 2500 pieces of equipment and components within the unit. The whole process will last one year and is divided into three stages, including the installation stage, cold testing stage, and post-hot testing stage. Unlike other M310-based units, the pre-service inspection for Tianwan Units 5&6 will be conducted by the owner of the project, Jiangsu Nuclear Power Company.

 

Environmental Impact Assessment for Tianwan Units 7&8 Released

On February 15th, the Lianyungang Municipal Government released the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Tianwan NPP’s Units 7&8, part of their Feasibility Study and a milestone of the pre-construction stage. The two VVER new builds will begin construction in May 2021 and March 2022, respectively, with their FCDs ten months apart.

 

Primary Equipment Installation Completed at Fuqing Unit 5

As the third RCP motor was successfully installed earlier this month, Fuqing Unit 5 has finished the installation stage. The subsequent milestone, the beginning of cold testing, will be initiated on schedule.
